The Beginning - The year was 2001 when Anthony Legotti got started in real estate as a residential real estate appraiser. He began by appraising 1-4 family homes throughout New York City and Long Island. It was during this time that he created a strong foundation of real estate knowledge based on market analysis and property valuation.
Commercial Real Estate - In 2003 Anthony ventured into commercial real estate later becoming a New York State Certified General Real Estate Appraiser in 2005. As a commercial real estate appraiser he was tasked with analyzing properties for investment purposes. He would go on to work closely with some of the most powerful real estate professionals in the industry to include bankers, developers, investors, contractors, and property managers. The property types he would value included office, industrial, retail, multifamily, and special purpose.
REO/Foreclosure Sales - The real estate marked crashed in 2007 and seeing an opportunity Anthony became a licensed sales person with Island Advantage Realty, a top REO and foreclosure broker in the New York City area. He found his niche in the residential distressed real estate market. His commercial appraisal knowledge made him ideal for working with investors and forecasting potential returns.
Fortis Realty Group - A famous appraiser named Ted Whitmer once said "Really good appraisers leave the industry and use their knowledge for themselves!" In 2009 Fortis Realty Group was created with the intention of being a real estate investment group that specialized in joint venture projects. Fortis Realty Group has completed over 100 real estate transactions in the past few years and continues to bring real estate investors and projects together.
